Piston flow meters

STAN-K

SKM

Fields of use

  • Mechanical engineering
  • Plant engineering

Application

Short-tube variable area flow meters are suitable for the measurement of small and low flow rates and are available in different types, e.g. with valve and limit switches.

Media

  • water
  • oil
  • other fluids

Operating principle

The SKM device is equipped with a spring-loaded piston located in a cylindrical measuring tube made of borosilicate glass. The piston with orifice bore forms the measuring system together with the spring. When the flow passes through the SKM, the piston changes its position in proportion to the flow rate. The flow rate is read directly at the upper edge of the piston on a scale on the glass. The SKM can be installed in horizontal and vertical pipework.

The STAN-K devices are equipped with a spring-loaded piston located in a cylindrical measuring tube.

When the flow passes through the STAN-K, the piston changes its position in proportion to the volume flow. The flow rate to be monitored is set using the adjustable limit switch on an external scale.
